Day 27--Brixx

One of our favorite places to go and eat pizza is at Brixx in Meadowmont because the pizzas are wood fired and they offer outdoor seating. My favorite pizza use to be the greek pizza which had feta cheese, kalamata olives, and basil. Oh how i loved that pie, but for some reason they no longer have it on their menu so this last time I tried the artichoke pizza. It had basil pesto as the base and then was topped with roasted red peppers, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes.

It was good but I still like the greek pizza better. Another favorite has been the bbq chicken pizza which as you can see uses bbq sauce for it's base and then is topped with grilled chicken, red onion, and parmesan cheese.

Day 26--Maggiano's

Have I ever told you that I Love.Love.Love. Maggiano's? I am in love with their lobster ravioli and order it every time we go there. To me, it is a little piece of heaven, so rich, so creamy, and filled with large chunks of real lobster...Yum! Dan is obsessed with their baked ziti and always orders the full order to make sure he has some left over for lunch the next day. The wait is usually long on Friday and Saturday nights, usually 2 hours or more, so call ahead if you wanna be served before 9 p.m.

Day 25--Ted's

I am not a fan of meat oaf but when it comes to the meat loaf at Ted's Montana Grill I can honestly say that I like it. They make it with 100% bison meat and it is served along with garlic mashed potatoes and "Aunt Fannies" squash casserole. They also serve some of the best pickles while you wait for your meal.

If ya'll come on down, we'll take you to Ted's for the best darn bison meatloaf you ever did have!

Day 24--Rainbow

One thing that I have noticed about the weather down here is when it rains, it pours! And when it rains, the sun is usually still shining and we are left to marvel in the beauty of God's creation, a massive rainbow!! This rainbow was so bright and so expansive and it was even a double rainbow for some time.

Day 23--REI

One of my favorite stores down here is REI. It has tons of outdoor gear for camping, biking, hiking and more. I don't ever buy much at this store but I like browsing the racks and wish that I had a camping or backpacking trip planned. I would absolutely love to get into either of those activities and wished my hubby enjoyed the great outdoors as much as I do. His idea of a fun on a Saturday is planting it on the couch and watching football, mine is camping in the woods with my hubby and dog.

Day 22--The Chick

One of the fast food joints that I was obsessed with when we first moved down here was Chick-fil-A. I was in love with their classic chicken sandwich with pickles and I'd dress it up with ketchup and mayo...yum!

I admit, I may have had too much of the Chick and now it turns my stomach just thinking about that place and honestly, I can't remember the last time I ate there. Too much of a good thing I guess. I have to be in the right mood for greasy waffle fries and chicken sandwich.

Day 21--The Streets At Southpoint

The Streets at Southpoint is the name of the shopping mall by our house. Its anchor stores are Nordstrom, Macys, and Belk and houses many other typical mall stores like GAP, J.Crew, Banana, Gymboree, JC Penny, Sears, White House/Black Market, Pottery Barn and PB Kids, Victoria's Secret, Ann Taylor and Loft, Urban Outfitters, and many more. Southpoint has an outdoor wing that houses many dining opportunities and is a great place to take up a seat and people watch. Often, on the weekend nights, there are street performers and live music.

Day 20--Pizza Pizza

Oh boy, oh boy! We got finally got one! Yes, we are totally excited for the Little Caesars Pizza that opened up near our home. We use to get Little Caesars once a week when we lived in Ann Arbor since it was across the street from the office that I worked at. I love their crazy bread and the pizza is alright , most of the time. I miss seeing the lucky employee holding the big bright orange sign dancing on the corner though.

Day 19--Pei Wei

Pei Wei Asian Diner is located in Briar Creek in Raleigh and serves basically the same menu as PF Changs but on the cheap. The best part, you don't have to wait 2 hours to be seated. Pei Wei is an order before you sit diner so you don't wait long for your food either. Oh, and they let you take as many fortune cookies as you like too...what's not to like about this place?

Day 16--The Yogurt Pump

One of our new favorites on Franklin Street is a hole in the wall frozen yogurt shop called The Yogurt Pump. The Yogurt Pump offers several different flavors of frozen yogurt with an assortment of toppings. My favorite flavor is vanilla with Resses Pieces. Remember to bring your cash though as this joint accepts only cash and be prepared to wait in line because it is a hot spot among the students.
